Very Rare Vintage French cut steel micro beaded handbags.
I wanted to feature these four very rare French Cut Steel handbags because this technique is no longer in existence and no longer made. Two pages in Roseann Ettinger "Handbags" one of the best vintage reference handbag books describes when these purses came to existence and the technique in making these rare handbags (pages 70 and 71). From the 1840 through the 1950's these stunning handbags were produced in France, other countries tried to create steel beaded bags but were not successful. The feel and luminous colors are incredible. These four handbags are exceedingly rare and soon you will not be able to purchase these French cut steel handbags since the handbags will be coveted in collector's storage rooms and museums.

This weighty woven cut steel handbag is handmade in France and has an outstanding detailed deign that was a labor of love. The camera does not capture the luminous sparkle that the cut steel beads reflect. The top frame has an intricate beaded deisgn. The interior is lined with rich deep dark blue satin with an open pocket on each sidewall. These handbags usually are displayed in a glass cubicle at high-end vintage shops since they are so rare.
